Proofreading focuses on surface-level language issues (spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency). Editing is broader and may include clarity, flow, phrasing, and readability improvements while preserving your meaning and academic tone. Our service tiers make the scope clear before we begin.

We provide language-focused services for research writing: Proofreading (Advanced), Editing (Premium), Scientific Editing, and Academic support (for theses/dissertations and submission-ready manuscripts). We do not provide ghostwriting or create new research content.

We primarily accept Microsoft Word files (.doc, .docx) because Track Changes supports transparent editing. In some cases we can work with PDF or other formats, but edits may be delivered as a separate annotated file. If you are unsure, contact us and we’ll advise the best format.

We typically use the word count from Microsoft Word (Review → Word Count). By default, references, tables, and figure captions may be excluded unless you request them to be edited as well. We confirm the counted sections before finalising the quote.

Turnaround depends on word count, service tier, and current capacity. Typical options range from 48 hours to 5 business days. Your final delivery time is confirmed after we review the file and requirements.

No. We improve language clarity and presentation, but journal decisions depend on research quality, novelty, fit, and peer review. We also do not alter scientific claims or add new content.

We treat all documents as confidential and restrict access to editors and staff who need it to deliver the service. Editors work under confidentiality obligations. If you need an NDA for institutional requirements, we can usually accommodate that upon request.

We assign an editor based on subject area and the service tier you choose. Many of our editors have graduate-level training and experience working with journal manuscripts. Exact editor assignment may vary based on availability and deadline.

We aim to preserve your voice and intended meaning. Edits focus on clarity, grammar, consistency, and readability. For Word documents, we typically use Track Changes so you can review every change.

Our service is editor-led and quality-checked by humans. We may use standard language tools (e.g., spelling/consistency checks) to support the workflow, but all final decisions and edits are reviewed by a human editor to ensure context and scientific intent are preserved.

If something is unclear or you think a language issue was missed within the agreed scope, contact us and we will review it. Where appropriate, we may provide revisions within scope. Refunds, if applicable, are handled case-by-case based on the project stage and the agreed scope.

We recommend anonymising personal data wherever possible before submission. You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to share any personal or sensitive information. If your institution has specific requirements, tell us in advance.
